The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Vikings at Jets: What Bettors Need To Know

Minnesota Vikings at New York Jets (-4.5, 38)

CURRENT ODDS

New York opened as a 4.5-point favorite last week and the early money came in on the Vikings, especially once Minnesota acquired WR Randy Moss. New York dropped to 3.5-point chalk in some locations, but has since gone back up to a 4.5 after CB Darrelle Revis was upgraded to probable.

The over/under line has also been affected by both Moss and Revis. The total opened at 37.5 last week and quickly jumped to 39 after Moss was acquired by Minnesota, but dropped back down to 38 with Revis’ improved status.

INJURY REPORT

The Vikings acquired WR Randy Moss from New England mainly because Minnesota is still without last year’s top target Sidney Rice. Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe is listed as probable after injuring his hamstring last week. Shiancoe leads the team with 169 receiving yards this season.

Minnesota center John Sullivan (calf) is questionable and the team will take him to New York in case he's ready. Backup center Ryan Cook looked good in action last week against the Lions so there shouldn’t be too much of a drop off if Sullivan is ruled out.

The Jets’ injury report was filled with star players, but most are expected to play. Cornerback Darrelle Revis (hamstring), linebacker Calvin Pace (foot), defensive end Shaun Ellis (knee), center Nick Mangold, and tackle Wayne Hunter (shin) are all listed as probable.

NOT SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Brett Favre turned 41 on Sunday, but it’s unlikely anybody threw him a big birthday bash. Allegations have surfaced this week that Favre sent explicit photos and voicemail messages to a former female Jets’ employee when he played in New York back in 2008.

According to Favre and Vikings’ head coach Brad Childress, the situation is not an issue.

“It’s not a distraction to us at all. We just don’t let it be,” Childress said. “We address it, we talk about it, and then we’re done with it. We just talk about what's out there, look it right in the eye, deal with it to the extent we can. It doesn't affect anyone else in this locker room but Brett Favre.”

But if it affects your starting quarterback, doesn’t it affect your whole team? Childress’ comments make no sense. And since he and Favre don’t really get along as it is, it’ll be interesting to see what comes of this situation as it continues to play out.

MOSS VS. REVIS: Part II

All reports say that Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will be back on the field for this game against Minnesota. Revis is battling a hamstring injury, but since he and Randy Moss have exchanged words over the last couple of seasons, we’d be surprised if he doesn’t suit up for this game.

Moss and Revis just squared off back in Week 2 when Revis and the Jets beat the Patriots 28-14. Moss was ineffective in that game with only 2 catches for 38 yards and a touchdown. Revis accused Moss of quitting in the second half of that game, and Moss responded with this:

”Between me and him is a mutual thing,” Moss said. “I think he gets caught up a little bit with how he talks. I’ve never said anything about him, good or bad. I still give him his respect, but he hasn't given me mine yet. Sooner or later, I’ll get it.”

POINT OF ATTACK

Under head coach Rex Ryan, the Jets have made their name on the defensive side of the ball. Their defense was phenomenal last year, and it almost as good this season.

But New York’s offense has improved by leaps and bounds after the dismal 9-point effort in the season opener. Over their last three games, the Jets have scored 38, 31, and 28 points, while averaging close to 400 yards of offense per game.

The Jets will finally get their prized off-season acquisition on the field tonight as wide receiver Santonio Holmes returns from his four-game suspension. Holmes will only boost an attack unit that is already in terrific form.

“Adding Santonio to our offense is just going to be huge for us,” Ryan told reporters. “To add a terrific player like Santonio to what we already have, an offense that’s really been rolling…. it’s good.”

Monday's Best NFL Bets

Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Jets (-4.5, 38)

Monday Night Football betting action heads to the Big Apple, where “Broadway Brett” will return to the play where he originally made his first triumphant return to the NFL. He’ll lead his Minnesota Vikings into NFL wagering warfare against the New York Jets.

The Vikings are going to have a new, yet very familiar face lined up on the outside on offense this week. WR Randy Moss was acquired from the New England Patriots for a third round draft choice, and he’ll immediately look to step in and help out a struggling Minnesota passing game. The aforementioned QB Brett Favre is throwing picks left and right once again after his one year hiatus from tossing INTs, as he already has six through three games in comparison to the seven that he had all of last regular season. Our hunch says that Favre will be well over that mark by the time that the Vikes are done on Monday Night Football, especially with a secondary featuring Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, and Kyle Wilson. This is one of the more ferocious rush defenses in football, which means that RB Adrian Peterson will have his work cut out for him. AP is coming off of a 160 yard game against the Detroit Lions two weeks ago, and he was the one that insisted that there was nothing to worry about in Minneapolis after an 0-2 start.

As for the Jets, they are going to once again be relying on a stout rushing game and that stellar, blitzing defense to try to stymie the man that once led their team. HC Rex Ryan knows that trying to run against the Vikes at times might be like trying to run through a brick wall. However, that doesn’t mean that he’s not willing to try, especially after having both RB Shonn Greene and RB LaDainian Tomlinson rush for over 100 yards last weekend in a romp of the Buffalo Bills. If the rushing game fails though, there is reason to believe that QB Mark Sanchez might be able to really keep the offense going. Not only has Sanchez done a great job of holding onto the football this year, as he has eight scores against no picks, but he is getting a huge weapon to play with this week in the form of WR Santonio Holmes. Holmes was suspended for the first four weeks of the season for violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy, but he’ll be back this week with a long week of preparation, and he might be able to have a huge impact on this game. Don’t be shocked to see the combination of Holmes and WR Braylon Edwards streaking up the field quite a bit, which makes this New York offense all the more dangerous.

The Jets look frighteningly good right now on both sides of the ball. We already know what a genius Ryan can be defensively, and now with names like Sanchez, Tomlinson, Greene, Holmes, Edwards, WR Jerricho Cotchery, and TE Dustin Keller, the offense suddenly looks awfully formidable with a ton of options as well. Don’t kid yourself. This game could be the first on a series of romps for the men in green against very solid ball clubs.

Pick: New York Jets -4

Payoff Pitch: Monday's Best MLB Mound Matchup

Madison Bumgarner, San Franciso Giants vs. Derek Lowe, Atlanta Braves

Madison Bumgarner (7-6, 3.00 ERA)

The San Francisco Giants are putting their faith in a 21-year-old rookie making his postseason debut to pitch them past the Atlanta Braves after taking a 2-1 series lead on Sunday.

“He's got great poise out there and good stuff,” Giants skipper Bruce Bochy said of Bumgarner. “The kid has no fear. He is a young kid that has a great way about how he handles things.”

Bumgarner, who was the 10th overall pick in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, was called up from Triple-A Fresno in late June and after dropping his first two starts, he rebounded to go 7-4 with a 2.78 ERA for San Francisco. He ended up striking out 84 batters while walking 24 in 111 1-3 innings for the Giants.

Bumgarner hasn’t pitched since Sept. 30, so he’ll be toeing the rubber on 10 days’ rest.

Derek Lowe (16-12, 4.00 ERA)

Pitching on short rest is nothing new for veteran right-hander Derek Lowe, who will take the mound on three days’ rest as he tries to help his Braves avoid elimination.

This will be the 10th time that Lowe’s thrown on three or fewer days of rest in his career and is 5-1 over those games. Three of those instances occurred in the postseason – one relief appearance and two starts – with Lowe posting a 1-0 record.

Lowe has a 5-6 career record in postseason play with a 3.24 ERA. He took the 1-0 loss in Game 1, but the Giants aren’t concerned about fatigue at this point.

“He only went 5 1/3 innings, and if you subtract the intentional walk, he threw 88 pitches,” Braves manager Bobby Cox told reporters. “He should be good. He’s fired up about it. Even before we started these playoffs, he was politicking for Game 4. He got it.”

Lowe is 3-0 with a 1.32 ERA over his last five starts against the Giants.

HOT LINES

Monday's Best MLB Bet

San Francisco Giants at Atlanta Braves (-145, 7.5)

It didn’t take long for the Atlanta Braves to find out just how important Billy Wagner was to their bullpen. The Braves dropped the veteran closer from their postseason roster after he suffered a strained left oblique on Friday, replacing him with Takashi Saito. Some think that we may have seen Wagner's last pitch in the bigs, but even if he feels better soon, by rule he won't be allowed to play in the next series should the Braves advance.

The 39-year-old, who had 37 saves this year, was watching on when rookies Craig Kimbrel and Mike Dunn combined to blow a 2-1 lead in the ninth inning to give the San Francisco Giants a 3-2 win in Game 3.

"That's a momentum swing," Giants closer Brian Wilson told reporters after finishing the Braves off. "The guys stayed focus. We had 0-2, two outs, base hit up the middle, another hit. I did nothing, actually, tonight. I basically went out and got the final three outs.”

That might just be the momentum swing the Giants needed in this series.

Pick: SF Giants

Canadian Bacon: CFL Week 15 Analysis and predictions

Calgary Stampeders at Montreal Alouettes (-3.5, 58)

The Stampeders are coming to Montreal for the second of a home-and-away series with the intention of securing a playoff home game. The Stampeders’ attack embarrassed Montreal’s secondary last week. Henry Burris, Ken-Yon Rambo and Romby Briant really had a blast against the Alouettes defense. Can they repeat at Percival-Molson this Monday?

The Alouettes want to avenge that painful lost but they will go without two key elements: center Paul Lambert (biceps) whose season is over and kicker Damon Duval (torn hamstring). A last minute replacement was hired but Duval’s absence could prove costly against a team as powerful as Calgary. At center, sophomore Luc Brodeur-Jourdain, who has had ups and downs in his second professional season, will be asked to replace Lambert.

Pick: Calgary

B.C. Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers (-3.5, 52)

After a horrendous start, the Lions seem to be back to life, mainly because of their stop unit. On offense, Travis Lulay has done some good work behind center and can also be credited for the Lions resurrection. The hot streak should continue against the Bombers, who’ve lost some key players to injuries and just seem to be jinxed.

Rookie QB Alex Brink will face the Lions. Don’t forget Brinks is the third QB on the Bombers depth chart, behind Buck Pierce (injured) and Steven Jyles. But Winnipeg is desperate and their playoff hopes are fading fast.

Pick: Lions

NHL Betting Preview

New York Rangers at New York Islanders (+110, 5.5)

The addition of Marian Gaborik last season gave the New York Rangers an offensive boost, but no one else had more than 20 goals as they again finished in the league's bottom half in scoring.

If their first game with Derek Stepan is any indication, they won't have to worry about an extra source of offense.

Stepan became the fourth player to open his NHL career with a hat trick, a brilliant debut he'll try to build on Monday as the Rangers visit the rival New York Islanders for a Columbus Day matinee.

Gaborik scored 42 goals in his first season in Manhattan, but the Rangers (1-0-0) had trouble giving him help as they finished among the league's bottom 15 in scoring (2.67 goals per game) for a fourth consecutive season.

Signing winger Alexander Frolov was supposed to help, but New York began the season Saturday missing two of its top returning forwards - Chris Drury (broken finger) and Vinny Prospal (knee).

Stepan more than made up for their absences. A second-round draft pick in 2008, the University of Wisconsin product became the second player in the Rangers' 85-year history to score three goals in a season opener, victimizing Vezina Trophy winner Ryan Miller in a 6-3 win Saturday at Buffalo.

"I was just kind of getting my feet wet in my first NHL game. And it was a fun process," said Stepan, second in the NCAA last season in points (54) despite scoring just 12 goals. "I guess for me, it's just one of those things where you kind of go, 'I guess I got lucky.'"

Only three other players recorded a hat trick in their NHL debuts - one in the last 31 years. Stepan made it look easy centering New York's third line with Sean Avery and Ruslan Fedotenko.

"I don't think we expect him to score three every night," said Henrik Lundqvist, who stopped 33 shots. "But if he does, we'll take it."

Brandon Dubinsky scored twice while Gaborik chipped in an assist, and the Rangers could have another big offensive performance Monday on Long Island. After scoring a goal apiece in their first two games against the Islanders (0-0-1) last season, they totaled 16 in going 3-0-1 over the series' final four contests - with Gaborik recording four goals and three assists.

The Islanders allowed the third-most goals in the league last season and got off to a poor start defensively in their home opener Saturday. They outshot Dallas 47-22 but had to mount a two-goal rally in the third period to earn a point before falling 5-4 in a shootout.

Veteran Doug Weight liked what he saw.

"When you get 45-50 shots on goal, you're doing some good things," Weight said after recording a goal and two assists. "I came into camp looking for some good things. Tonight's point was crucial."

The point may have come at a price, however. Center John Tavares, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 draft, left with a mild concussion late in the first period after colliding with Dallas' Adam Burish and didn't return.

Tavares will be evaluated Monday, but his injury is the latest blow to a team already missing defenseman Mark Streit and forward Kyle Okposo due to shoulder injuries.

"The injury bug just continues against us," goaltender Rick DiPietro said.

Islanders 18-year-old winger Nino Niederreiter, the fifth overall pick in the 2010 draft and the NHL's youngest player, went pointless with two shots in his debut.

Pittsburgh Penguins at New Jersey Devils (-140, 5.5)

Winless starts have produced different issues for New Jersey and Pittsburgh, with the Devils struggling to stop anything and the Penguins searching for a breakout offensive effort.

Facing New Jersey probably isn't the best way for Pittsburgh to get untracked.

Martin Brodeur and the Devils allowed only five goals during a six-game sweep of the Penguins last season, a run of defensive dominance they hope to continue in Monday's meeting at the Prudential Center.

New Jersey (0-1-1) was the NHL's stingiest team in 2009-10 behind Brodeur, who posted a 2.24 goals-against average and led the league with 76 starts and 45 victories.

The winningest goaltender in league history is still searching for his first this season, however. The Devils blew a 2-0 lead in their opener against Dallas on Friday, falling 4-3 in overtime, and led 2-1 after the first period Saturday only to lose 7-2 at Washington as Brodeur was chased after two periods.

"Those nights are going to happen," captain Jamie Langenbrunner said. "It's a little shocking to happen tonight. ... We played a solid first period and a solid start to the second, and then just got away from it a little bit."

Brodeur has allowed nine goals in 101 minutes, a 5.31 GAA.

The Penguins (0-2-0), meanwhile, have yet to find much of a home-ice advantage at the brand new Consol Energy Center. Pittsburgh dropped its opener 3-2 against Philadelphia on Thursday, then blew a lead late in the third period Saturday against Montreal, surrendering goals 24 seconds apart in another 3-2 loss.

"We let it slip away, that's basically what happened," captain Sidney Crosby said after his team went 0 for 6 on the power play. "We didn't put the game away. We had a lead and had some real good chances."

Pittsburgh finished two points behind the Atlantic Division-winning Devils last season, and a look at the series makes it easy to see how one result could have changed that. New Jersey outscored the Penguins 22-5 in capturing all six head-to-head meetings, winning each by at least two goals and shutting out Pittsburgh's power play (0 for 21).

The Devils scored less than five minutes into three of the last four meetings.

"Early on they got leads, or a power-play goal and we did not react well," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said. "The last few games, the games were close and tight, but we weren't able to keep our emotions in focus and it took us off our game for periods of times in those games."

Bylsma wouldn't say whether he'll start Marc-Andre Fleury or backup Brent Johnson in net Monday. Fleury played the first two games, making 24 saves in each.

Whichever goaltender starts will have Paul Martin in front of him, as the 29-year-old defenseman returns to New Jersey for the first time in a visiting uniform. Martin played his first six NHL seasons with the Devils before signing with Pittsburgh in the offseason, and he's chipped in an assist in each game thus far.

Brodeur will start for the Devils after being replaced by Johan Hedberg on Saturday, but the team in front of him will be shorthanded. New Jersey is only carrying 20 players on its roster because of salary cap concerns, and three could be missing Monday.

Winger Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond definitely won't play after earning a one-game suspension for instigating a fight Saturday, and defenseman Anton Volchenkov (broken nose) and left wing Brian Rolston (lower-body injury) may not play after sitting out Sunday's practice.

Monday's Best NHL Bets

New York Rangers at New York Islanders (+110, 5.5)

Are the Islanders cursed? The team’s backers have to be asking themselves that question after franchise player John Tavares suffered a concussion in the first period against the Stars on Saturday night.

This is a big deal people. Tavares is a unique talent and concussions aren’t being treated lightly in the NHL any longer, especially not after that scary incident involving Thrashers goalie Ondrej Pavelec.

"He's arguably our best forward, and John's a prolific player that brings a lot of offense to our team," team captain Doug Weight told the Islanders' official website.

It’s a really bad break for the Islanders who are already missing their top defenseman Mark Streit and bruising forward Kyle Okposo.

The Rangers, meanwhile, looked dynamic lighting the lamp six times against the Sabres on Saturday.

Pick: New York Rangers

Pittsburgh Penguins at New Jersey Devils (-140, 5.5)

Expectations are always going to be high for the Penguins as long as Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are in the lineup. So that’s why many are surprised by the club’s 0-2 start, with both loses coming at the club’s new arena.

So what’s the deal? The Pens led late in the third period against the Habs, the same team who knocked Pittsburgh out of the playoffs last spring, but Montreal scored two late goals to steal two points and walk away with a 3-2 win.

Some are pointing fingers at goalie Marc-Andre Fleury and his 3.07 goals against average, but everyone knows Sid and Company need to score more than two goals a game to be successful.

It seems like the early absence of center Jordan Staal is hurting a bit more than expected.

The opening few games haven’t gone much better for the Devils. New Jersey grabbed a point in its first game but then got blown out by Washington, 7-2, on Saturday.

Devils coach John MacLean stated the obvious after the game, telling reporters his team had some work to do.

Expect the Pens offense to come alive against the Devils Monday night.

Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins

CFL Betting Preview

Calgary Stampeders at Montreal Alouettes (-3.5, 58)

The Calgary Stampeders will hook up in the second game of a home and home series with the Montreal Alouettes for a Monday night football tilt October 11th. The Calgary Stampeders won the first game on their home field 46-21 and now they will play the Alouettes on their home turf.

Both teams enter this game as the leaders of the East and West divisions of the CFL and as always happens in a home and home series, there should be some bad blood between the two. In the first game in McMahon Stadium, the Calgary Stampeders made the most of their home field advantage.

Stampeders quarterback Henry Burris had one of his best games of the year throwing for 412 yards and passing his way to ninth all time on the CFL All Time passing leaders. Burris added more yardage with his feet, running for 56 yards and keeping the Alouettes defense honest. The Stampeders jumped out to a 14-0 lead and after the Alouettes came back to score 14-7 but that was as close as they would get to the Stampeders.

Other players that made an impact in last weeks confrontation that may be shut down in this weeks game were Ken-Yon Rambo and Montreal’s Avon Cobourne. Rambo was the leading receiver for the Stampeders with 169 yards and will have double coverage throughout this game. The Stampeders will have to jump up and play more effectively against the run and Cobourne who had 76 yards in last weeks game.

BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers (-3.5, 52)

With Winnipeg's slim playoff hopes riding on his shoulders, Alex Brink isn't showing any nerves about making his first CFL start.

The Blue Bombers rookie quarterback is replacing a healthy Steven Jyles as the struggling 3-10 team hosts the B.C. Lions on Monday (TSN, 4:30 p.m. ET).

If the Bombers lose, they'll be mathematically eliminated from the East Division playoff race against Toronto and Hamilton, both 7-7.

Winnipeg needs to finish with more points than the Argos and Ticats because those clubs each won their season series against the Bombers.

A loss would also barely keep Winnipeg in the hunt for a crossover playoff spot in the West against the third-place Lions (5-8) and Edmonton (4-10).

Brink's debut will also be judged by head coach Paul LaPolice, his teammates and fans who want something to cheer about.

“I want to win, that's all there is to it,” Brink, 25, said after Sunday's practice. “There's nothing for me personally to prove. I'm not trying to prove anybody wrong. I'm out here competing with my teammates and we need a win, and that's what it's all about.”

The Bombers have lost eight of their last nine games. In their 10 losses, six have been by four or fewer points and another by seven points.

Last week, B.C. beat the Bombers 16-14 when second-year quarterback Travis Lulay engineered a five-minute drive capped by Paul McCallum's 19-yard field goal with 12 seconds left in the game.

McCallum is sitting out with a hamstring injury and will be replaced by Sean Whyte.

It was Lulay's first CFL win and he'll get the start again Monday in place of a healthy Casey Printers, whose recent fumbles caused Lions head coach Wally Buono to give Lulay the nod last week.

“Any time you step on the field you feel like you have something to prove,” said Lulay, who's 1-3 as a starter. “You just want to go out there and prove to yourself and to your teammates that you can get the job done.”

And maybe continue to start for the Lions, who have won four of their past five games.

“I think the only way you can get there is by taking it one game at a time, so really that's the focus and I think that's the best way to be successful at it,” Lulay said.

Brink hasn't started a game since 2007 at Washington State, where he left as the Cougars' all-time leading passer with 10,913 yards.

The Oregon native, known for his accurate passing and mobility, was drafted by the Houston Texans in 2008. He was a final cut in his first training camp and spent some time on the practice roster in his second. He had a tryout earlier this year with the New York Jets before signing with Winnipeg in May.

He's got into six games this season, mostly in short-yardage situations, and has completed two of seven pass attempts for 14 yards and carried the ball 12 times for 18 yards and one touchdown.

LaPolice's decision to go with Brink has been questioned and even seen as desperate, but he says the team needs to score more offensive points and protect the ball consistently.

Jyles has completed 166 of 267 pass attempts (62.2 per cent) for 2,296 yards with 15 TDs and five interceptions. His QB-efficiency rating is second only to Montreal's Anthony Calvillo, but Jyles has also fumbled seven times and his record as a starter is 2-6.

“This game isn't going to be about Alex Brink alone,” said LaPolice, adding that he's prepared to give Brink some slack even if he makes mistakes.

“We're trying to put him into the position to be successful and also have the ability to not look over his shoulder the whole time.”

Lions veteran defensive end Brent Johnson admits there's not a lot of film on Brink, but he expects the rookie will follow Winnipeg's tendencies to run the ball and throw it to some favourite receivers.

“The tough part is, what this guy is capable of we don't know that,” Johnson said. “We're not going to know until we play.”

Buono is aware a victory would help his team in the quest for a playoff spot, but he wants his squad to just continue to improve after its 1-7 start.

“We are getting better as a football club, so for us coming on the road and beating Winnipeg is just part of it,” Buono said.

And it doesn't matter that Brink is behind centre.

“Our job is to confuse the quarterback, whether it's Brink or anybody else and I think our defence (can do) a pretty good job,” Buono said.

Lines To Watch

Minnesota Vikings at New York Jets – Jets are up to -4.5 after being as low as -3.5 earlier. The total is up to 38 after opening at around 37.

Weather To Watch

No current weather concerns for Monday’s games.

Who’s Hot

New York Jets are 7-2 ATS in their last nine overall.

New York Rangers are 7-3 in their last 10 games against the New York Islanders.

Washington Capitals are 73-32 in their last 105 home games.

Philadelphia Flyers are 24-8 in their last 32 home games.

Who’s Not

San Francisco Giants are 2-6 in their last eight games in Atlanta.

St. Louis Blues have lost seven of their last 10 games against the Anaheim Ducks.

Pittsburgh Penguins have lost their first two games of the year and are 17-38 in their last 55 meetings with the New Jersey Devils.

Florida Panthers are 1-7-2 in their last 10 games against the Vancouver Canucks.

Key Stat

.813 – New Jersey Devils veteran goaltender Martin Brodeur’s save percentage through the first two games of the season. Brodeur has faced 48 shots over that span, stopping only 39 of those efforts. Brodeur was pulled in the second intermission of Saturday’s 7-2 loss to the Washington Capitals after giving up five goals on 20 shots. The Devils square off against Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.

Injury That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

Brett Favre (elbow), Minnesota Vikings – Favre is dealing with tendinitis in his right throwing elbow and an MRI revealed mild inflammation. The 41-year-old has obviously played through a lot worse in making 288 consecutive starts, but it’s something to keep an eye on moving forward. He is officially listed as probable for Monday’s game against his former team, the New York Jets.

Game Of The Day

Minnesota Vikings at New York Jets (-4.5, 38)

Notable Quotable

"Between me and him is a mutual thing. It's more of us competing. I think he gets caught up a little bit with how he talks. I've never said anything about him, good or bad. I still give him his respect, but he hasn't given me mine yet. Sooner or later, I'll get it." – Randy Moss said about the verbal sparring he has been involved with Jets corner Darrelle Revis. Moss will get another crack at lining up on “Revis Island” on Monday night when the Vikings battle the Jets after beating Revis for a one-handed TD grab when he was playing with the New England Patriots earlier this season.

Tips And Notes

New York Jets wideout Santonio Holmes is expected to make his season debut Monday night after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He caught 79 passes last season for more than 1,200 yards and five touchdowns and should be a welcome addition to a passing offense that’s averaging only 171.8 yards per game – 25th in the NFL.

The New Jersey Devils could have a short bench when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins and their former defenseman Paul Martin on Monday. Defenseman Anton Volchenkov suffered a broken nose on Friday when he took a shot just under his visor and Brian Rolston sustained a lower-body injury in the game. Both are questionable for Monday’s game while Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond will likely be suspended after instigating a fight with less than five minutes left in the Devils’ 7-2 loss to Washington.

The San Francisco Giants benched third baseman Pablo Sandoval in favor of Mike Fontenot for Game 3 and they didn’t have to wait long to see the move pay off in a big way. Fontenot tripled in his first at-bat of the postseason in the top of the second inning and then came around to score the game’s first run when Cody Ross reached on an error as the Giants went on to a 3-2 comeback win over Atlanta on Sunday to take a 2-1 series lead. They will likely keep Fontenot in the lineup for Monday’s Game 4.
